Truly "Under God"

  In July of 1776, 56 men signed a declaration that would be the groundwork for this beautiful country called America. There is no way that I could begin to describe what the mood in the air might have been at that fateful moment. One of frustration, of anger, of wonder, of nationalism, of plain old democracy. Could it be that it was one of a perfect, devotion and love for the Almighty God? Could it be that they were signing this document to preserve a people's wonder and amazement towards their Ultimate Origin. What if they were signing this document to preserve freedom and liberty that was planned long before we thought about a land across the blue. This document I believe was a part of God's will for not just you or me, not for just America, but for the world. That country's around the world would look at America and say "This is a nation truly under the one and only Great I AM."

Down From Heaven

This was some of my own work. Its probably not the best you have ever seen but its a start. I also wrote "The Christmas Story" to go with it and used it as a christmas card.

Down From Heaven
Down from heaven the Gift he gave
Down from heaven my soul to save
Down from heaven man's flesh he wore
Down from heaven my burden he bore.

Down from heaven to be born in a stable
Down from heaven to a world unstable
Down from heaven to be weary and worn
Down from heaven to be beaten and torn.

Down from Heaven to die for me
Down from Heaven to rise for me
Up to Heaven to give God the blood
Of the ever living, crucified One.

Here on earth to tell His story
Here on earth to give Him the glory
Here on earth tell them of Him
The One that would cleanse and keep them within.

Tell Me The Story Of Jesus

  1. The sweet story of Jesus.

  2. Tell me the story of Jesus,
    Write on my heart every word;
    Tell me the story most precious,
    Sweetest that ever was heard.
    Tell how the angels in chorus,
    Sang as they welcomed His birth,
    “Glory to God in the highest!
    Peace and good tidings to earth.”
    • Refrain:
      Tell me the story of Jesus,
      Write on my heart every word;
      Tell me the story most precious,
      Sweetest that ever was heard.
  3. Fasting alone in the desert,
    Tell of the days that are past,
    How for our sins He was tempted,
    Yet was triumphant at last.
    Tell of the years of His labor,
    Tell of the sorrow He bore;
    He was despised and afflicted,
    Homeless, rejected and poor.
  4. Tell of the cross where they nailed Him,
    Writhing in anguish and pain;
    Tell of the grave where they laid Him,
    Tell how He liveth again.
    Love in that story so tender,
    Clearer than ever I see;
    Stay, let me weep while you whisper,
    “Love paid the ransom for me.”

What do you own

I heard a story of a minister who was invited to a very rich farmers house. So he went and they ate and talked for a while. Then the rancher took the preacher and walked up to the highest hill on his ranch. He then pointed towards the West and said "everything you see in that direction I own." He pointed in the East and said "everything you see is mine. "He then pointed in the South and said "everything you see is mine." He then pointed to the north and said "everything you see I worked for with my own hands." The preacher, with hardly a hesitant moment, pointed up and said "but how much do you own in that direction."

We sometimes think that we can own and conquer everything we see and just control completely. But that is not the way it works. Because if you think about it God owns everything and you are just on loan, and if you don't learn to store up treasures in heaven you will be the poorest up there.

I Love To Tell The Story

Do you?
  1. I love to tell the story of unseen things above, Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love; I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true, It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.
    • Refrain: I love to tell the story, ’Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story Of Jesus and His love.
  2. I love to tell the story, more wonderful it seems Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams; I love to tell the story, it did so much for me, And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee
  3. I love to tell the story, for those who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest; And when in scenes of glory I sing the new, new song, ’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long
